Very long queues of vehicles have been witnessed at CNG filling stations on Thursday afternoon. The CNG supply was restored after remaining suspended for two days at 2pm. To avail the opportunity, people started to get into the queues since midday to get their vehicle cylinders filled with the CNG.
Though motorists took a sigh of relief on hearing the good news, they still had to bear long queues of vehicles outside CNG filling stations much before the scheduled reopening time of 2.00 pm. However, some complaints of low gas pressures were reported from some of the filling stations.
The closure of CNG stations not only created a lot of problems for citizens, but also multiplied the sufferings of commuters as transporters stopped to ply their buses and minibuses that were converted to CNG usage. In is worth mention that the difference between prices of CNG and other fuels as there is a substantial price difference between petrol and diesel that spurred people to remain to CNG. Transporters already overcharging from commuters on the day of closure of CNG stations. It is also witnessed that transporters withdrew a very large number of busses and mini buses on the day of closure of CNG filling stations.
