ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Wednesday, following gains in US soybean futures, traders said. Light farmer selling added further support to the front-month contract, while gains in new-crop months were limited by good conditions for growth of the recently seeded crop. July canola rose $10.30 to $610.60 per tonne, on volume of 178 contracts. November canola rose $2.20 to $539.10 per tonne on volume of 5,965. November-January spread narrowed by 10 cents to a January premium of $4.90, trading 930 times.
