Chief Justice Lahore High Court Umar Ata Bandial on Friday directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to cancel the list of 58 private tour operators it prepared for participating in bidding for Hajj quota. The Chief Justice directed the ministry to prepare a new list strictly on merit till July 09.
The CJ issued the restraint order while hearing a fresh application complaining illegality in allocation of Hajj quota among newly registered top 58 Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs). The Chief Justice also observed that Hajj should be made inexpensive to benefit the common people.
