A month of price rise

19 Jul, 2013

A month of blessing or a month of prices rise. As Ramazan begins, the prices of goods skyrocket because in this month special arrangements are made in Sehri (pre-dawn) meal and many more. Special arrangements for Iftar including pakoray, samosay, dahi baray, fruit chats and juices double the excitement of this holly month in Pakistan. There are a lot of delicious meals basically all these are the gift of Ramazan.
In other Muslim countries, traders offer discounted meals and other food items. Unfortunately, in our country the prices of food commodities rise in this holy month. As we know consumption of food items increases up to 40 percent. The government has announced the special Ramazan discounted rate list but unfortunately retailers are making maximum profits and common people have no other option. Fruits, chicken, vegetables and all other food items' prices have as usual hiked. No one who cares?
In the European countries, special offers are introduced for Muslims on food items. The prices of food items decrease in Asian stores of the UK, the US, France, etc... I hope this Ramazan the newly-formed government will go in right direction and resolve the problems facing people in relation to food items, security, and terrorism. This will be the great achievement for them.
