Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Prosecution, Rana Maqbool Ahmad has said that in order to provide speedy justice to citizens, an outstanding co-ordination should exist among police, prosecutors and judicial officers. He said that officers should devote themselves to the provision of timely justice. The goodwill of government and the system lies in fairness and efficiency of its officers.
Rana Maqbool Ahmed said this while addressing a high level meeting related to providing timely justice to citizens, here on Friday. The advisor said, the present government was committed to the policy of providing ease to the deserving. He elaborated the benefits of his recent visits to Rawalpindi, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala divisions where he met senior officials to sensitise them regarding efficient process of justice.
He said that SHO's and public prosecutors should be in liaison to investigate the matter and take the case to its logical conclusion in due time. Public prosecutors and police officers should have weekly meetings to overcome the faulty procedures faced during the trials, the advisor added. He added that no criminal should be set free and it's the responsibility of the public prosecutor to squeeze the trap around criminals. Government will give award and appreciation certificates to the honest and devoted officers, he added.
