Mian Zahid Aslam, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) said that the recent visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has given a new hope to the industrialists as they have committed to resolve the pending problems including energy crisis.
Addressing at Iftar-dinner hosted in honour of local electronic and print media, he said that the Prime Minister has assured that gas supply will be increased while the duration of the load shedding would be further trimmed. He also pinpointed that some hostile media houses are projecting negative image of Pakistan in international markets and our media should counter these efforts and project Pakistan as a peace loving and economic friendly country.
He said that textile sector is important segment of our society which is earning US $12 billion from textile exports out of these US $5 billion is from this city. He said that if energy crisis is resolved, the textile sector could fetch another US $5 billion within the available resolved. He also underlined the need for construction of new water reservoirs as agriculture was the mainstay of our national economy He said that these dams could also provide water for the irrigation and help Pakistan to bring under cultivation the unclaimed lands.
He also responded to the question and queries raised by the media and thanked media for their guidance and helped in resolving of the fundamental issues of the business community. Later Chaudhry Muhammad Boota, Vice President thanked media for their participation in this function. He also termed this meeting as one of the most important meetings of this Chamber.
