No respite during Ramazan for power consumers

Power outages in many parts of city have perturbed consumers, particularly during the Sehar, Iftar and Taraveeh timing, as Peshawar Electric Supply Company continuously carrying out excessive loadshedding amid increasing demand of electricity.
The power consumers complained that the excessive power outages have greatly disbursed the routine, especially in the holy month of Ramazan as the supply remained suspended at Sehri and Iftari time in most areas of the city due to which they are facing immense difficulties. Hashtnagri, Ganji, Kohati, Ramdas, Lahori, Gulbahar, Sheikhbad, Fariqarabad, Hazarkhwani, Garhi Qamar Din, Landi Arbab, Shahedabad, Charkhakhel, Manakro and Baragate areas were among the worse affected areas.
Meanwhile, a dozens of enraged residents of Charkhakhel and Gul Abaad areas on Saturday asked the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Wapda authorities to take notice of the issue and provide them new transformer. The protesting dwellers of union council-34 Charkhakhel, kept their out of order electricity transformer at main Sher Shah Soori road and a gave a sit-in in front of Peshawar press club building. The protesting villagers led by local elders Muhammad Ashraf, Asad Khan, Fazal Hadi and Manzoor Khan were holding placards. They also chanted slogans against Pesco authorities for indifferent attitude towards its customers.
