Surge in crimes witnessed in Karachi as Eid draws near

A surge in criminal activities to dangerous extent in country's business hub Karachi has been witnessed in the midst of Ramazanul Mubarak. According to details, the crime rate in city has also increased with the end of first 10 days of Ramazan and people moving in the markets, the posh areas are the main and easy target of the snatchers.
Though authorities concerned have chalked out a special security plan like other big cities of the country for the Ramazan but the police and other law enforcement agencies look inactive and fail in controlling the situation. The people do not feel police as their helper and avoid complaining to them because they feel they could be dragged into other problems after filing complains.
It should be mentioned that number of officers and policemen are deployed on VVIP duties therefore it is 'technically difficult' for security personnel to control the situation. Meanwhile, the incidents of extortions are also a major problem for the businessmen in the city. Many businessmen had been moved to other cities like Lahore after the increase of extortion incidents.
