Government considering setting up energy fund to resolve crisis: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that every possible option is being utilised for resolving energy crisis and government is also considering setting up energy fund in this regard. He said that energy projects would be completed speedily in collaboration with local and foreign institutions. The Chief Minister said that Punjab government welcomes the interest of private sector in launching energy projects and will provide all facilities to the investors extending co-operation to the government in this regard.
He expressed these views during separate meetings with renowned industrialist and Chairman Gul Ahmed Group Bashir Ali Muhammad and Chairman Hub Power Company and Engro Group Hussain Dawood. Briefings were given to the Chief Minister by both the industrial groups about energy projects and other related matters. Provincial Energy Minister Sher Ali Khan, Advisor Azm-ul-Haq, Chairman Planning & Development, concerned secretaries, MD Sui-Gas and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while talking to industrialist Bashir Ali Muhammad expressed satisfaction over the fact that private sector wants to play its role to rid the country and the nation of energy crisis. He vowed that PML-N government will fulfill the promise of reducing load-shedding at every cost. The Chief Minister reiterated that facilities would be provided to the local and foreign investors for launching projects in energy sector and all the projects would be completed in a very transparent manner.
Shahbaz Sharif while talking to Chairman Hub Power Company and Engro Group Hussain Dawood said that generation of energy is the first and last priority of PML-N government. He said that industrial, economic and agriculture development cannot be possible without energy. He said that PML-N government is working on energy projects on war footing and energy projects would be completed speedily. Dawood Hercules Group gave a briefing about the ongoing projects in energy and agriculture sectors on the occasion.
