Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that PPP believed in the policy of reconciliation and was engaged in negotiations with MQM to persuade it to join Sindh government. This he observed while addressing a press conference at Circuit House Hyderabad on Sunday night. Senator Raza Rabani, who has been nominated by PPP as its presidential candidate, Provincial Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Minister for Fisheries Jam Khan Shoro, PPP President Hyderabad Chapter Zahid Ali Bhurghri, General Secretary Syed Fayaz Shah and other PPP leaders were present on this occasion.
Shah said that they were optimistic for getting positive response from MQM.
To a question about local bodies' elections, the Chief Minister said that they had requested the apex court to allow them to conduct local bodies' elections within 6 months. He said that they intend to bring amendments to the present local government law and other preparation for which at least six months period is needed. While responding another question about Lyari, the Chief Minister Sindh said that the situation in Lyari was not as dangerous as being propagated. He said that there was a little dispute between two communities, which according to him was created by some elements for their own interests.
