Provincial Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan here on Monday said that the `Qabza mafia', extremists were marring the law and order situation in Karachi and that the restoration of peace was the collective responsibility of all of us. He stated that the network of the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) would be strengthened and with the co-ordination of the intelligence network, the menace of terrorism would be tackled.
Wassan said that the government of Sindh was sincere in ensuring peace in Karachi and that important steps were being undertaken for this. He also asked the people to come forward and contribute towards efforts for the maintenance of peace. The Minister said that Lyari is the stronghold of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and all necessary measures were being taken for the maintenance of peace there. He also lauded the leadership of the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah. Wassan was of the view that there was no militant wing within the PPP.
