LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said Southern Punjab was very close to his heart and prosperity of its people was his mission.
He said he took this as a mission during the worst flood of 2010. He said there was no example in the 70 years history of Pakistan of the work being done by PML-N government for the development of Southern Punjab.
This was stated by him while talking to assembly members belonging to Southern Punjab who met him here, and expressed their complete confidence over his leadership.
The Punjab chief minister said those who were point-scoring on the issue of Southern Punjab had badly neglected that area in their tenure.
Record development programs had been completed in southern Punjab during PML-N tenure, he said and added that the PML-N government had taken practical measures for the development and prosperity of Southern Punjab.
He said the people of Southern Punjab would reject those who showed political jugglery in next general elections.
The assembly members said the chief minister had left no stone unturned for giving rights to the people of Southern Punjab.
They said the PML-N would win with thumping majority from Southern Punjab in the leadership of chief minister Punjab.
Those who called on him included Member National Assembly Muhammad Arshad Khan Leghari, Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Mumtaz Ahmed Qaiserani and Mir Badshah Qaiserani.
