Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) termed President Zardari's statement about the economic policy as unstable and said that it is prerogative of federal government to give policy statement. "The statement of the President is above understanding. During last five year of the PPP government, the President cannot improve the economy of the country. The PPP government created problems for the people instead of giving relief to them," Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan said while talking to Business Recorder on Friday.
He said that the PML-N government understood well the issues of the people and it was trying its level best to resolve them. He claimed that the country was facing many challenges due to bad governance of the PPP government during last five years. Mr Khan said that Pakistan was confronting a big challenge of energy crisis and the PML-N government had started the work on war footage to overcome the crisis.
He said that the PPP could not bring economic stability in its tenure, but it had worsened the economy. He said that the PML-N government was taking solid steps to improve economy through direct and indirect investment, trade and export. When contacted, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Deputy Secretary Information Ahmed Jawad said that there was no weight in President Asif Ali Zardari's statement as his government had failed to do anything to steer the country out of economic and security crises confronting Pakistan.
He said that the PPP-led regime remained busy in safeguarding its personal vested interests throughout its five-year term, ignoring the miseries of the poverty-stricken masses. "If President Zardari was so serious to resolve the issues being faced by the country, he should have floated such 'Martial Plan' ideas when his party was in power. Now, Zardari is all set to leave the office of President and such suggestions makes no sense at all," he added.
