The Federal Board of Revenue has directed the Chief Commissioners of Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to report increment in revenue undertaking new budgetary measures carved for 2013-14, on monthly basis. The FBR on Friday issued decisions of the first Chief Commissioners Conference to the LTUs and RTOs.
As per FBR's instructions issued to the field formations, additional revenue from each measure to be reported to the FBR on monthly basis by all Chief Commissioners of LTUs and RTOs.
Member Inland Revenue Operations apprised the Chief Commissioners of LTUs and RTOs about the national estimates of revenue collection in 2013-14 as well as the estimated target set for each RTO and LTU, impressing upon the Chief Commissioners to strategise their initiatives effectively to achieve these targets.
He highlighted the weak areas which impeded the revenue performance in 2012-13 and urged the Chief Commissioners to focus on critical areas/sectors right from the beginning of the financial year. FBR Member IR Operations also deliberated upon the revenue measures of this year asking the LTUs/RTOs to closely work with the concerned organisations to have relevant data of potential taxpayers covered under these measures. Monthly revenue addition from each measure is to be monitored regularly, FBR added.
