The Supreme Court was urged on Monday to restrain the Prime Minister from exercising his power under Article 243 of the Constitution to give advice to the President for the appointment of the next Chief of Army/Navy/Air Staff until ruling of the court in the matter. Shahid Orakzai filed an appeal in the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Islamabad High Court which had dismissed his writ petition for lack of locus standi stating that the petitioner was not a military officer.
