Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on Tuesday said that sectarianism was a big threat to stability of the country and Mashaikh could eliminate this menace from society by playing their positive role. He stated these views while presiding the 'All Pakistan Mashaikh Conference' here at Aiwan-i-Quaid, F-9 Park organised by Nazriya Pakistan Council Trust.
He said that the sectarianism had taken many precious lives and also causing to destabilise the country, adding that now it was the responsibility of everyone to play their role to eliminate this menace from society. He said that the ministry would also make suggestions after consultation with all sects in this regard to end sectarianism and terrorism in the country. "Mashaikh could play positive role by giving the message of peace and love to masses in their speeches as it was the base of an Islamic state in sub-continent," he said.
He appreciated the suggestion of NPC to celebrate 'Nazriya Pakistan Day' every year on Ramadan 27 apart from 'Independence Day' on August 14. Earlier, the Ulema expressed their views on the internal and external dangers confronting Pakistan and offered suggestions to address the issues.
