Peshawar police foil liquor smuggling bid

The police on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of liquor to Punjab and seized the drug but the culprits managed to escape. According to details, the patrolling police squad signalled to stop a vehicle for checking in the vicinity of Faqirabad police station, however, the driver did not abide by the order and fled from the checkpoint.
Police chased the car and managed to intercept it in Saeedabad area. Upon checking, 624 bottles of liquor were recovered from the secret chambers of the car. The accused succeeded in escaping from the site. Police said that the liquor was being transported to Punjab but timely action prevented the attempt.
