The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial here on Tuesday directed District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ), Bahawalpur to send report about the submission of challan by police before trial court in a case of kidnapping and murder of a minor.
The LHC had directed the D&SJ to ensure compliance of the Chief Justice orders within three days about the submission of challan of the case to the relevant court. A nine-year old child, son of Zulfiqar was kidnapped for ransom. Kidnappers demanded Rs 3 million. The victim approached police who registered the complaint and arrested a suspect but let him go two days later. And on the very next day, they found the child's body in the fields in front of the police station.
The family of deceased child staged a protest on the DCO Chowk Bahawalpur for the arrest of culprits. As per report submitted by D&SJ, accused Umar Hayat is on bail before arrest while the other accused Muhammad Hanif has been arrested. A team comprising five-police officers is investigating the matter and the incomplete challan of the case has been submitted before the relevant court.
