LSE index improves by 63.13 points

Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Friday and the equities registered gains amid ascending transaction volume on account of fresh buying. The LSE-25 index was improved by 63.13 points and was ended at 4333.53 against 4270.40 of Thursday, while trading turnover was increased to 875,000 shares compared with day earlier volume of 1.958 million shares.
The market was opened on a healthy sign and stayed in positive zone, as investors stayed on buying course and made entries in Dawood Hercules Corporation, Nishat Chunian, Sui Southern, D G Khan Cement, Nimir Industrial Chemical, PTCL, National Bank, Pak Elektron, Mari Petroleum and Engro Foods. However, Treet Corporation, Bank Alfalah, Silk Bank and Pervez Ahmed Securities remained under pressure.
The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 79 active issues, 25 companies posted gains, five stayed in negative zone while 49 companies remained unchanged at their overnight closing. Mari Petroleum was improved by Rs 7.41, Engro Foods gained Rs 2.64, Dawood Hercules Corporation was appreciated by Rs 1.37 while Nishat Chunian was up by Rs 1.09. Treet Corporation lost Rs 2.32 while Bank Alfalah and Silk Bank were declined by 30-paisa and 5-paisa, respectively. Bank of Punjab with trading of 336,000 shares topped the volume leaders followed by PIAC with 115,500 shares.
