Safe and secure journey: NH&MP launches three-day special patrolling

On the directions of IG, NH&MP Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Motorway Police, Central Zone has launched three-day special patrolling and briefings campaign on national highways for the safe and secure journey of the road users on the eve of Eidul Azha. NH&MP Officers are giving special briefings and distributing road safety pamphlets carrying messages for their safe journey on all Toll plazas.
Extra officers and patrolling mobiles have also been deputed between Chung and Thoker at ShahPur Kanjra Bakra Mandi to ensure the free flow of traffic said by DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad while visiting national highways and inspecting arrangements. SSP Mirza Faran Baig was also present on the occasion.
DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad said Motorway Police, central zone has taken special measures for the safety, security and safe journey of the road users on Eidul Azha, which includes extra patrolling vehicles, more help units and mobile workshops and ambulances have been deployed on patrolling to lend maximum help to the road users, especially in the context of Eidul Azha rush. The officers have been asked to extend maximum help to the distress road users and make a prompt response to Helpline 130 calls.
DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad has directed the officers of Motorway Police to make special arrangements in order to cope with the extraordinary rush of vehicles due to Eidul Azha. The officers were asked to check the overloading and overcharging by the Public Service Vehicles and to ensure that the passengers do not jeopardize their safety by travelling on the roof of the buses. He asked the officers to treat the commuters by upholding high standards of morals and exchange Eid greetings with them.
