City Police Officer (CPO) Gujranwala Raja Rifat Mukhtar suspended four police officials including a Station House Office (SHO) for alleged negligence as a child died after a kite string slit his throat here on Sunday. CPO Raja Rifat Mukhtar had directed the police for strictly implementing the ban of kites flying across the city, especially on Sundays but kites flying continued across the city.
A three-year-old child died when metallic string used for kites flying encircled his neck in People's Colony of Gujranwala. The CPO taking the notice of incident suspended four police officials including SHO People's Colony, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and two constables for negligence. He also warned the other police officials of strict action against them in case of any slackness in their duty.
