LSE index gains 72.47 points

Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday and equities registered gains across the board amid ascending transaction volume following fresh buying. The LSE-25 index was improved to 4333.17 against 4260.70 of last Monday, denoting a gain of 72.47 points while trading volume was increased to 3.300 million shares compared with previous volume of 958,300 shares.
After a long break on account of Eid holidays, the market was opened on a healthy sign and kept on rising throughout the day, as investors stayed on buying course and made entries in bluechips and ready board shares. As a result, fresh buying, MCB Bank, National Bank, Bank Alfalah, Bank of Punjab, DG Khan Cement, Pioneer Cement, Maple Leaf Cement, Fauji Cement, Lafarge Pakistan Cement, Engro Corporation, PPL, PIA and PTCL were ended in positive zone. However, selling pressure was also seen in Nishat Chunian, Engro Foods, Pak Elektron, Asakri Bank and Fauji Fertilizer. The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 87 active issues, 27 companies posted gains, 9 stayed in negative zone while 51 companies remained unchanged at their last week closing.
MCB Bank gained Rs 5.65, DG Khan Cement was appreciated by Rs 3.00, PPL was improved by Rs 2.53, while Engro Corporation and National Bank were up by Rs 2.20 and Rs 2.13, respectively. Nishat Chunian lost Rs 5.14, Engro Foods was declined by Rs 4.16, while Pak Elektron shed Re 1. NIB Bank with trading of 1.093 million shares topped the volume leaders followed by Lafarge Pakistan Cement with 562,500 shares.
