Burj Bank Limited and its staff extended their support for the earthquake effected people of Balochistan when a group of volunteers from within the Bank's staff created the 'Burj Disaster Management Team' for a timely response to the national catastrophe.
The team of volunteers joined hands with Karachi Relief Trust (KRT) for a mass scale CSR activity, which was initiated from Karachi last week. The CSR program was designed to reach out to hundreds of household in the affected parts of Balochistan enabling the quake victims to resume their normal lives. As the first step, Burj decided to provide the victims with immediate relief in the form of household items required to run a basic family unit. The procurement, packaging & transportation was managed by volunteers of Burj Bank Ltd and KRT.
Till date, the efforts of the Bank & its staff has supported the rehabilitation of over 250 households in Avaran & some other affected zones of Balochistan. "This was one of the most honest, heartfelt CSR activity carried out by a corporate organisation which I have witnessed in the recent past", commented Adnan Asrar, Founder & Trustee, Karachi Relief Trust.-PR
