Rangers, have chalked out stiff security plan to check the possibilities of any untoward situation in Karachi during Muharram. According to details, a high level security meeting was held in wake of forthcoming Muharram-ul-Harram at Pakistan Rangers Sindh headquarters here on Friday.
The meeting, chaired by Director General Rangers Major General Rizwan Akhtar, was attended by DDG Rangers, Commissioner Karachi, Rangers Sector Commanders, Zonal DIGs, DIG (CIA, Traffic and Special Branch), representatives of CDGK and GM KESC. Spokesman of Rangers said that they had finalised security plans and would ensure fool proof security during holy month .He said that temporary piquets would be established, which would be manned round the clock. Snipers will also be deployed at the roof tops of high-rise building located at procession routes besides sealing entire procession routes.
The law enforcers will also take assistance from sniffer dogs to clear the route coupled with aerial surveillance. Moreover, he said that strict ban would be imposed on aerial firing and violators will be dealt with iron hand. He said that participants of the meeting had urged the religious scholars of all sects to maintain peace and promote inter-sect harmony during the holy month.
