A cargo volume of 61,716 tonnes comprising 49,833 tonnes of import cargo and 11,883 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,510 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 49,833 tonnes includes 15,706 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,100 tonnes of palm oil; 1,198 tonnes of fertiliser; 4,346 tonnes of chemicals; 3,610 tonnes of wheat; 92 tonnes of project cargo and 13,781 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 11,883 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There are four ships namely CV Jumme Trader, CV Mare Atlanticum, MT Karachi and MT Antjee sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while two more ships namely CV MSC Denim and MV Thor Harmony sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of ten vessels viz CV Jumme Trader, CV Mare Atlanticum,, CV MSC Denim, MT Karachi, MT Antjee, MV Thor Harmony, MT Ginga Kite, MT Norgas Patricia, MV Vishva Vikas and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals, fertiliser, wheat and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely MSC Levina, Cardinal, Liberty N, Lito, Chembulk Barcelona and Chemroad Vega with containers, LPG, urea, sunflower seeds, phosphoric acid and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were two vessels with containers and project cargo took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday. There are four ships namely CV MSC Levina, MV Chemroad Vega, MV Cardinal and MV Chembulk Barcelona with containers, chemicals, fertiliser and palm oil due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
