Governor Punjab Muhammad Sarwar has lauded the unprecedented contribution of Sheikh Community of Chiniot in the fields of health and education and assured that government would not only acknowledge their services but also extend fullest co-operation in further expansion of their welfare programs.
He was talking to a delegation of Sheikh Community that called on him under the leadership of Mian Abdul Hameed Puri ex-President Anjuman-e-Islamia Faisalabad and Mian Saleem Omer.
Chaudhry Masood Iqbal Chairman All Pakistan Rice Association, S M Naveed Director Din Group, Mian Mushtaq Ahmed, Chaudhary Iqbal, Mian Shafique Ahmed and Irfan Ilyas were also included in the delegation.
The delegation apprised Governor of the services of this specific community in the field of social welfare and told that they were managing an 80 bed hospital and a Din Girls College from their own resources. "Leading businessman and Resident Chiniot Anjuman-e-Islami SM Muneer Sitara-e-Imtiaz and leading rice exporter Chaudhry Masood Iqbal are personally sponsoring these institutions.
The delegation appreciated the welfare agenda of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and assured they were also ready to contribute in this programme in the best interest of the people.
"We are ready for the up-gradation of Civil Hospital Chiniot up to 100 beds", they said and added their ultimate objective was to ensure best possible medical facilities to the people at their door-steps.
Governor highly appreciated their sentiments of generosity and assured that government would try its best to encourage them with necessary incentives.
