KMC employees slate amendment to LG Act

Employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Thursday staged protest demonstration outside Civic Centre against arbitrary amendments of Sindh Local Government Act 2013, deduction in KMC's funds. A large number of KMC employees participated in the protest demo, demanding immediate withdrawal of arbitrary amendments in Sindh Local Government (LG) Act 2013.
President Sajjan Union (CBA) KMC, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, President Peoples Unity, Ashraf Awan, Malik Nawaz of United Workers Union and President KDA Mazdoor Union, Abdul Mateen Waheed, were also present. Addressing the demo Syed Zulfiqar Shah said that workers of KMC would foil the conspiracies of usurping the resources of the city. He said that workers of the KMC were united and ready to save the interest of the city.
He said that Master Plan Department of KMC had been merged with Sindh Building Control Authority in order to entertain the SBCA with Rs 2.5 billion. He said that retired employees of KMC could not get their dues due to acute shortage of funds. The protestors hailed the decision of withdrawal of government notification regarding sacking 13000 employees.
