A delegation from the USAID Agribusiness Project led by Derald Smart called on Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, vice-chancellor of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore. The delegation discussed collaboration between the USAID and UVAS for initiating various training programmes for meat industry workers, supervisors and managers. They also discussed initiating projects for training and research on calf-raising.
The vice-chancellor briefed the delegation on various training programmes of the university. He said that university is producing skilled manpower to meet their rising need in the livestock and allied sectors and industries. USAID Agri-business Project consultant Dr Hamid Jalil, UVAS Department of Meat Science and Technology in Charge, Dr Muhammad Hayat Jaspal and other officials were also present on the occasion.
