Islamabad police have set up `Citizen Police Co-ordination Centre' to ensure effective co-ordination with public and protect their rights. The centre was formally inaugurated by Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Sikandar Hayat at Kohsar police station. AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan, SP (City) Mustansar Feroz, ASP (City) Yasir Afridi, SHO Kohsar police station Inspector Hakim Khan, members of conciliatory committees and renowned human activist Dr Farzana Bari were also present on the occasion.
Sikandar Hayat said that main objective of this centre would be to bridge the gap between police and public and providing relief to citizens as well as inculcating friendly police ecology. Muhammad Rizwan said that there should be no gap between police and public and crime control measures should be made more effective with mutual co-operation.
Sikandar Hayat said that Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has stressed to ensure friendly police ecology in the city, adding that this centre would have priority areas including resolving community problems on immediate basis, inculcating friendly police ecology with polite and decent attitude, providing enhanced security atmosphere, provision of better working environment and end to indecent practices from police stations.-PR
