Sanitary staff holidays cancelled during Muharram

District Officer Solid Waste Management Dr Mazhar Azeem said that a comprehensive campaign had been launched to clean the city during Muharram-ul-Harram. He said the sanitary staff had been deployed to perform their duties and warned that strict action would be taken if found negligence in this regard. He said our religion taught and highlighted the importance of cleanliness.
He directed to clean the routes of Muharram processions and to take special steps to clean Imambarghs following the jurisdiction of the 46 union councils of Rawal Town and 8 union councils of Potohar Town.
He appealed to the citizens not to throw the garbage and filth to keep the surrounding neat and clean during the sacred month of Muharram. The District Officer visited different areas of the city to check cleanliness.
