The first Chinese student of Arabic Studies Department, National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Kong dejun (Ayub) has completed his PhD in Arabic. After the successful defence of his PhD thesis by a panel of veteran academicians at NUML, Kong dejun (Ayub) son of Kong Lingzhen was awarded the coveted degree in the discipline of Arabic Language and Literature.
Kong dejun (Ayub) conducted his research on the topic of "Difficulties in Translating Meanings of the Quran" under the supervision of Dr Syed Ali Anwar. Kong dejun (Ayub) is the first Chinese national students at NUML who has completed his PhD in Arabic language.
Kong dejun is a prominent scholar and translator in China. He is very famous person in Arab world for his translation of "Tafseer Ibn-e-Kaseer" which is published by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Besides, he has translated many other books into Chinese Language and also translated famous Chinese philosopher Confucius into Arabic Language. Kong dejun (Ayub) said that the environment and guidance of his teachers at NUML made his research possible and his thesis would help students and researchers in understanding the semantic layers of the words of the Quran.
