Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the tragedy at Karbala reminds of the supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his faithful companions for upholding truth and righteousness. He said that the incident of Karbala gives the message of sacrifice, tolerance and steadfastness and by following it, people can transform their lives in accordance with the golden principles of Islam.
In his message on Youm-e-Ashur, Chief Minister said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions wrote a new chapter of courage and bravery through their steadfastness against the forces of evil and falsehood at Karbala. He said that supreme sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala have eternalised the lofty moral values and eternal principles of Islam. He said that by acting upon the teachings of Islam, a peaceful society can be created. He said that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase and the country is in the grip of terrorism. He said under these circumstances, the need for following the philosophy of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is more than ever. He said that the enemy wants to destabilise the country and its nefarious designs will have to be foiled through maintaining unity and harmony.
Shahbaz said that the nation will have to sink its petty differences and unite on a single platform. He said that it is time to promote religious harmony and national solidarity to eliminate sectarianism and terrorism from the country. He said that leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N is determined to rid the country of all problems including terrorism and sincere efforts are being made in this regard.
