'Woman succumbed to acid injuries': LHC disposes of notice

Lahore High Court disposed of a notice "woman succumbed to acid injuries", as complete police report of the case has been submitted before the Anti-Terrorism Court and no further directions are required by the Complaint Cell on administrative side because regular proceedings have been initiated against the accused persons, said a press release here on Thursday.
According to the details, Naziran Bibi of Mangtanwala, Nankana Sahib, was passing through the Miani Sahib Graveyard when an accused threw acid on her. The victim was shifted to hospital where she succumbed to her burn injuries. A case under Section 302 and 7-ATA was registered on the complaint of the victim's brother Imran who was accompanying her at the time of the attack.
After cognisance of LHC Complaint Cell on administrative side D&SJ Lahore submitted that the investigating officer has been directed to adopt concrete measures for the arrest of accused at the earliest as well as conduct of fair & fearless investigation. CCPO Lahore and concerned SP/Investigation were directed to ensure compliance of above mentioned directions. On the directions of LHC Complaint Cell, now the police report u/s 173 CrPC against the accused has been submitted in the Anti-Terrorism Court, where the case is under regular trial.
