Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee members Ahmed Salim Siddiqui and Adil Khan met prominent Ulema and scholars, Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Dr Jameel Rathore and Dr Waqar Azeemi as a part of their ongoing efforts to maintain environment of harmony and peace during Muharram. MNA Iqbal Mohammad Ali and the party's Ulema committee In-charge Javaid Ahmed and members were also present on the occasion, said a statement on Thursday.
The Rabita Committee members in their separate meetings with the Ulema and scholars said that promoting inter-faith harmony and respect for each other's faith was in true spirit of Islam. They said that their party chief Altaf Hussain has always described intolerance as a conspiracy against the people and against the Muslim unity.
