The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) shall further expand its new school program (NSP) in 12 different districts in Punjab during the current fiscal year. For the purpose, applications have been called in from the suitable candidates. An official of Punjab Education Foundation stated this in a statement issued here on Sunday.
According to the an official , purpose of this expansion is to further extend the facility of free school education to more deserving students living in remote and less-developed areas of these districts where number of schools is inadequate or the poorness of the people hinders schooling of their children. This expansion would be especially beneficial for girl students who could not go far off for studies due to various reasons.
According to the expansion plan, more low-cost private schools in the districts of Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawal Nagar and Pakpattan shall be partnered to provide free school education to the deserving students under new school program, he added.
This new school program (NSP) expansion is part of a larger six year long expansion plan of the foundation launched with the objective of bringing back out of school children to schools through private schools partnering with the foundation under its various programs of free education.
These programs have greatly helped to reduce the educational backwardness in poor and remote areas where people cannot send their children to schools for want of resources, spokesman concluded.
