Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday appealed Sunni and Shia scholars to form committees for establishing peace in the country. In a statement, Hussain said that the country was going through a critical period and the nation must play a wise role.
The MQM chief also asked the scholars to keep an eye on the miscreants, who create unrest. "Sectarian harmony is needed in the country," he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the law and order situation in the country is deteriorated following the clash between two groups in Rawalpindi on Friday. The clashes also erupted in Multan, Chistian, Faisalabad and other cities, and Army was called in to assist the administrations and police in maintaining peace.
