PESCO's drive against defaulters in full swing

Disconnection and recovery campaign launched by Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) against power pilferage and defaulters is in full swing throughout Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. In this connection PESCO Lachi sub-division disconnection teams disconnected power supply to Shewari Inzar Kili from 100 KVA transformer due to non-payment of dues to the tune of millions of rupees. Similarly PESCO Warsak-I sub-division recovery teams recovered Rs 0.1 million from defaulters while FIR has been lodged against four persons on power pilferage.
Furthermore, power supply to Achini Mera was disconnected from distribution transformers due to non-payment of Rs 2.4 million. Customers of the disconnected areas forcefully reconnected the power supply for which PESCO taking legal action. Similarly in Mardan Circle PESCO teams raided on various locations and nabbed dozens power stealers and FIRs lodged against them in the concerned police stations.
The management of PESCO has warned the defaulters to deposit their dues; otherwise the electricity will not be restored. Due to illegal use of electricity in these areas, power supply system is severely over loaded and is causing frequent power breakdowns. Furthermore, defaulters have been asked to pay their outstand arrears with immediate effect otherwise strict legal action will also be initiated against them. Other defaulters are also directed to make payment of their outstanding dues otherwise their power supply will be disconnected without further notice and will not be restored until payment of dues.
