The Ambassador of Japan, Hiroshi Inomata called on the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here on Thursday and discussed the issues of bilateral relations between the two countries. The Minister said that Pakistan enjoys good friendly relations with Japan, and appreciated the role of Japan in development of the socio-economic sector of Pakistan.
He added that Japan has always been with Pakistan during its history and the present government is determined to further strengthen the relations between the two countries. The meeting also discussed the security situation of the region with particular reference to the government's initiative for peace and dialogue.
The Japanese Ambassador appreciated the efforts of the government for restoring law and order in Karachi as it was extremely important for the economic development of Pakistan. He also apprised the Minister about the Japanese investors who are interested to invest in Pakistan.
The Minister stated that the government is committed to establish the writ of the state throughout Pakistan and in this regard the first draft of Internal Security Policy is ready and will be presented in the cabinet meeting soon for its final approval. He added that the government will facilitate the investors from Japan and Ministry of Interior will fully cooperate with the Japanese investors regarding their security requirements.
Both dignitaries also agreed to look for avenues of institutional co-operation between the security agencies particularly Civil Armed Forces of both countries to learn from each other expertise to better equip and train the Forces to meet the security requirements of Pakistan.-PR
