Sindh High Court (SHC) was informed that Master layout plan of DHA Phase-VIII was revised in 2007 to meet increased demands for services and traffic. DHA counsel informed this to a single-member bench of SHC of Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, who was hearing a petition filed by Zahidullah Khan, a resident of DHA, against DHA projects on amenity plots allocated for park, graveyard, schools and sewerage treatment plant in Khayaban-e-Shaheen, Phase-VIII.
DHA's counsel submitted that Master layout plan of DHA Phase-VIII was prepared in early seventies and original plan was not sound. It was further informed that annual meeting of DHA governing body had suggested the improvements in the master plan of Phase-VIII and the revised master plan was approved by the body to cater to the increased demands for services and traffic.
Petitioner's counsel Salahuddin Ahmed said that DHA had launched projects in the names of Creek Terraces and Creek View, Creek City in DHA, Phase-VIII on plots. The land where these projects had been launched was actually amenity plots as per the Master plan but without the federal government's permission, DHA illegally granted permission to the defendants Creek Developers, BF Property and Construction Pakistan and AKD Capital Limited to launch aforesaid projects, he added.
