Deputy Inspector General (DIG) National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Muhammad Zubair Hashmi said that from December 1, motorcycle riders will not be allowed to ride motorcycle on GT Road without wearing safety helmet. According to details, the DIG issued these directives while heading an operational meeting at Motorway Chowk Rawalpindi with all SSPs, DSPs and operational staff of Motorway Police North Zone.
The DIG said that during the first phase till November 30, briefing parallel with enforcement will be imparted to motorcycle riders to wear safety helmet while riding. In this regard, special briefing sessions will be arranged to inform the road users regarding benefits of wearing safety helmet.-PR
