Business Recorder, a Karachi-based newspaper, must be commended for carrying a front-page item on the 136th birth anniversary of Dr Allama Iqbal. This newspaper has always treated such events and occasions with traditional fervour and zeal. I happened to visit his mausoleum twice between April and September this year to pay homage to the poet of Pakistani nation.
The nation as usual paid homage to the great poet who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent, which led to the creation of Pakistan. The day dawned with special prayers for the eternal peace of Allama Iqbal. A change of guards' ceremony took place at Mazar-e-Iqbal. No doubt, this nation owes a lot to the great philosopher of the twentieth century.
