Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Jam Khan Shoro visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore and held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha on Monday.
Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Ch Arshad Jatt, Secretary Livestock Punjab Dr Sajid Yousufani, the Secretary Livestock Sindh and other officials of the Livestock Department government, Dean Veterinary Science UVAS Prof Dr Sarwar Khan, Dean Biosciences Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf and Dean Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
The minister sought the UVAS help in the training of livestock professionals and paraprofessionals of the Sindh government. He also sought technical assistance from the UVAS in the development of newly-established Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (SBBUVAS) at Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah).
The Vice-Chancellor assured all-out help to the Sindh government in the training of livestock professionals and technical assistance in the development of SBBUVAS.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor briefed the minister on the academic, research and extension programmes of the university. He said that the university is working in close collaboration with the livestock department Punjab and private sector.
He said that the UVAS is a national university and has intake of students from across Pakistan on merit.
