A provincial legislator from PTI, Fazal Elahi has refuted the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company's allegations against him, saying the issue was raised by the Pesco officials after blocking their way of corruption and commission in the constituency PK-06.
Addressing at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, he said he personally made contact with Pesco's chief executive officer after elections and requested him to issues orders for installation of new meters, and issue a special metre-reading cards, to avoid culture of direct hooks in the constituency PK-06. Following the request, the Pesco officials had agreed to take serious steps in this regard. He, however, said the Pesco had not taken any practical measures for installation of power meters and issuance of reading cards so far.
PTI MPA alleged that Pesco sub divisional officer, superintendent and other officials had earlier illegal charged the power consumers Rs 1,500 to Rs 3000 per house as bribe, while Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 per shop in the constituency PK-06. Now, he said illegal practice was ended, therefore the Pesco officials were protesting against them. He claimed that evidences and proofs were available in written about taking bribe from the power consumers. He said PTI government would not tolerate any kind of corruption and would take stern action against those officials involving in such illegal practice in KP.
