LHCBA backs Musharraf's trial

The Lahore High Court Bar Association demanded to try judges and other collaborators of former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) also who protected the 1999's military coup. The LHCBA general house meeting headed by Bar President Abid Saqi was held on Tuesday. Awami National Party's General Secretary Ahsan Wyne moved the resolution demanding to the federal government to try Musharraf on treason charges.
The house said that Article 6(2) of the Constitution envisaged trial of all the collaborators and endorsers of treason. The resolution states that decision to try only an individual would cause serious concerns among the legal fraternity and the dictators' aides should also be tried.
