ATLS/ACLS courses: CPSP completes five years

The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has completed its five successful years for ATLS/ACLS courses. A spokesman of the college said on Tuesday that the CPSP is the first medical institution in Saarc region, who conducting the ATLS/ACLS courses for the civil, private and armed forces, he added.
Pakistan is only country in the Saarc region, which started ATLS/ACLS courses in collaboration with American College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan. In Washington, Professor John Cout Bie Chairman of International ATLS course awarded the shield to Professor Mehmood Ayyaz who is country director of ATLS course in Pakistan.
It may be noted that the ATLS/ ACLS course was commenced with the efforts of President CPSP Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry in 2007 in Pakistan. Moreover, CPSP has been nominated for the Europe Business Community's Socrates best award in the field of medical education after the struggled of President CPSP and present council. Now this is second best award for CPSP in current year.
