Islamic International Relief Organisation (IIRO) on Tuesday dispatched 40 trucks loaded with relief items to quake-hit areas of Balochistan. The relief items included essential items, flour, rice, sugar, blankets, utensils; tents would be distributed among 10,000 earthquake hit areas of Balochistan.
Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan Dr Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim Al Ghdeer, Secretary General IIRO Shaikh Ehsan Bin Saleh Tayyeb, Minister for State and Frontier Regions Lieutenant General (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, State Minister for Petroleum Jam Kemal Khan, State Minister for Interior, Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education, Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman and Deputy Chairman Senate Sabir Ali Baloch was present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General IIRO Shaikh Ehsan said the Saudi government and people will continue sending aid to their Pakistani brothers. The relief operation would be extended to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The Secretary General, who is on ten days visit to Pakistan, said IIRO would help establishing a women university in Jhelum to impart education to over 600 girls. IIRO would distribute 5000 sewing machines among the deserving and needy women of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al Ghadeer assured persistent support to Pakistan in every testing time. The people and government of Saudi Arabia would soon gift 5,000 houses to the people of Pakistan. Regional Director IIRO Dr Abda Bin Muhammad Atin thanked the participants and vowed to continue serving the needy and deserving people of Pakistan.
