Ten arrested over violation of meat-holiday

District administration Peshawar on Tuesday arrested 10 persons for violation of meat-holiday while 9 bakers were nabbed for selling under-weight rotian. According to the details, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam received a tips regarding the selling of meat and steaks by some butchers in Karkhano Market in violation of meat-holiday.
He directed Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC)-III for taking action, which arrested 10 persons for selling meat and steaks in violation of the meat-holiday while 9 bakers were also arrested for selling under-weight rotian. Meanwhile, the administration also took into custody 8 persons for resisting an operation against encroachments and recovered one truck goods.
On the directives of Administrator, Municipal Corporation Peshawar (MCP), Rasheed Ahmad Khan, MOR, Shahid Iqbal and Tax Superintendent, Mohammad Ayaz Durrani along with demolition staff carried operation against encroachments in Faqirabad, Sabzi Mandi, Kohat Road, Dalazak Road and demolished several kiosks and confiscated goods put outside shops while on resistance 8 persons were also taken into custody. Furthermore, 5 persons were arrested and sent to prison for establishing illegal car-parking on Hospital Road, Firdous area and in Khyber Bazaar.
