The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has asked banks to open Karachi base branches, involved in tax collection on Saturdays till December 31, 2013. According to a circular issued by SBP, in terms of Finance Division, Government of Pakistan letter No F.4 (4)-Bkg.I /2013 dated November 22, 2013, it has been decided that banks branches in Karachi involved in collection of Customs Duty, Tax, Port Charges, etc shall remain open on Saturdays till December 31, 2013. SBP has also directed banks to ensure meticulous compliance of the instructions.
