ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Power, Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday said that Neelum-Jhelum and wind plants would bring improvements in the energy sector.
Talking to a private news channel, he said there was a shortfall in electricity and some other technical reasons due to which, the people had to face two hours loadshedding.
The country had to face 18-hours loadshedding during the previous government tenure, but Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government after coming into power focused on energy projects to address the issue, he said.
The PML-N government had provided uninterrupted power and gas supply to industrial sector besides, meeting the demand of the domestic users, he said.
“We have added over 10,000 megawatt electricity to the national grid and in the coming days, more power would be added in the system, “ he added.
The government had made efforts for rectifying transmission system and bridging the gap between demand and supply, he said.
To a question about loadshedding, he said the technical issues would be removed soon for smooth supply of electricity.
