The rupee moved slightly against the dollar on the local currency market on Wednesday, dealers said. The rupee shed only one-paisa against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 104.89 and Rs 104.91 respectively, they said.
In the third Asian trade, the euro touched a seven-week high against the dollar on Wednesday, with the greenback struggling in the wake of more soft economic data and news that foreign investors had been heavy sellers of US assets. The euro held steady at $1.3761, having touched a high near $1.3773 earlier on Wednesday, its strongest level in about seven weeks.
The dollar was trading at Rs 62.20 versus the Indian rupee, the US currency was at 3.3000 in terms of the Malaysian ringgit and the greenback was at 6.0737 against the Chinese yuan Interbank buy/sell rates for the taka against the dollar on Wednesday: 77.75-77.75 (77.75-77.75).
